Three-day mega Railway Fair-2009 starts on April 18

From the April 18, a three-day mega railway fair 2009 is held at divisional office of North East Railway (NER) in the city. It includes sequence of programs in the fair.

As per the statement of public relation officer of NER, varanasi division , ashok kumar, this efforts is made for raising funds for different welfare programs which are organized by the NER women welfare association (NERWWA) in the region through the three day mega railway fair 2009.

The series of programs are there in the fair which includes, a program which shows the history and growth of the Indian railways with the photographs and models showcased in the fair, some special entertaining programs for the children are there which has stunts and adventurous, and there is a unique program is also featured in the fair which includes region handicrafts products-bansrsi saree, wooden toys for the children and stone engraved statues of chunar area will also be exhibited in the fair. This information is given by the president of NERWWA, Manju Jha.

The special feature of the fair is its unique dishes of the region which includes Banarasi Paan and Thandai, and there is some south Indian dishes are also at a display like Dosa, Uttapam, Dhokla and Idli.

The organization NERWWA came into existence in 1949, it is formed by the women members of the families of railway employees. This organization works for the women upliftment, women empowerment, upliftment of non gazette railway employees and they also work for the rescue operations by organizing programs for the raising of funds for the needed persons. It also give shape to the natural talent and the creativity into the children.
