Outstation Study Tours for Students through Indian Railways
There are many state run schools in Delhi, the parents of students now feel relieved and feel relaxes as the government can rely on Indian railways subordinates for the arrangement and organizing an educational trips outside the city and this will give relief to the parents in saving money which are spend on these trips which are organized any private operators.
There are 900 schools which are run by the Delhi government and they have decided that the Indian railways will organize all the outstation educational trips for the students through Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).
There are lot of problems faced by the schools with the private trip operators as of poor quality food, accommodation of low standard and bad facility of transportation- a Delhi government official said.
In context to the educational trips for the students awe have contacted IRCTC for organizing trips for the schools, so that they feel saved from such kinds of problems. IRCTC is a reliable and a popular name in the tourism business so we have selected them for this reason- the official added in the statement.
For all the outstation tours IRCTC will organize everything regarding the trip. Their responsibilities includes pick and drop services to the student after or start of the trip, take care of all the arrangements needed in a trip. It is mentioned in the circular signed by Chandra Bhushan Kumar, director of education, Delhi government.
They have to take care of all the arrangement of food stay, travelling and the rates which are there in the norms approved by the government for these trips. As per the circular. After the circular released in the month of august, IRCTC working properly in their task as they have taken more than 100 schools for educational trips to outstation places like Mount Abu, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Pushkar, Nainital, Mussorie and Dehradun.
As per the statement of deputy general manager of tourism, IRCTC Shashank Shekhar- we have newly joined with the Delhi government, for the organizing of tours for the school students and we have already taken more than 100 Delhi schools for such trips.
We are about to join up with the other 400 schools for these trips, as we have received a positive approach from students as well as from the teachers. Shekhar added.
The government has instructed as the trips will not be more than five days and the place for the trip should be in context to educational, historical, geographical, scientific and ecological importance. The trip has to be undertaken only during summer holidays or in autumn breaks, so that their studies will not suffer due to trips.
A government provides a fund of Rs 100,000 per year to the schools
for these outstation educational trips and no burden on the parents
occurs for these trips. There is no charge will be taken from the
students for the trip.
